Meet your College Station masonry contractor
From a desk job to a mortar box
I spent my first working years at a desk, and I still laugh at how long it took me to leave it. I quit to mix mortar and carry block for an older mason who taught me the trade one wall at a time, then started this business in College Station in 2013 because I wanted to build things I could stand back and look at.
At J&M College Station Concrete & Masonry we're best known for careful mortar work on brick, where the new joints match the old so a repair doesn't stick out. People call us for worn joints, cracked brick and chimneys, and for walls, walkways and pavers around the yard. A few creeks run through town and can rise in big storms, and the runoff from your lot is yours to deal with, so I ask a lot of questions about where the water goes. If something underneath is causing the damage, I'd rather tell you than patch over it.

What you can count on when we work on your house
I look first and explain it plainly
I come out to every job myself and tell you what's wrong in plain words, so you know what you're paying for before we start. Our own crew of masons does the work, I check it as it goes, and I'm glad to answer questions along the way.
Only the failing parts get fixed
If only some joints are bad, we fix those and leave the sound brick and mortar alone. That keeps the job to what your house really needs, and good old work stays in the wall where it belongs.
New mortar that suits your old wall
We choose mortar to match your wall in strength and color, so the repair blends in when you look at it from the street. Mortar that's too hard for older brick makes the brick take the strain, so we pick one that's easy on it and lets the joint do its job.
Licenses and permits: what we handle
Serving College Station Since 2013
Licensed and insured
We're licensed and insured, and our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If you'd like to see our paperwork before we start, just ask at the estimate.
Permits pulled the way the city asks
The City of College Station asks contractors to register with it before it'll issue them a building permit, and it lets you pull one yourself, without registering, for work on the home you own and live in. Before we start, we check what the city your job sits in asks for, and when a permit is ours to pull, we pull it and set up the inspections, or tell you what the city will want to see if you'd rather do it yourself.
Where we work: College Station and beyond
We're based in College Station and work across the cities around it, Bryan and Navasota among them, so if you're nearby and don't see your city here, just ask through our contact page.
